About.

Molly is a Canadian production designer with experience in costume, set, and projection design for theatre. Though currently based in Victoria, B.C. her roots tie her back to her home in the East Coast. She is grateful to have grown in Mi’kma’ki, and to continue to grow in the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen)—known today as the Songhees and Esquimalt (xʷsepsəm) Nations—and the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples.

Her design methodology focuses on collaborative approaches, play, and a keen interest in text and history to develop immersive spaces. As a visual artist grounded by Theatre scholarship, her work looks to understand the legacies and ghosts of performance spaces, while contributing to the next chapter of their stories. She continues to find inspiration in the relationship between Site, Story, and Body through visual exploration, as well as the beauty and textures of both the coastlines dear to her. Her work in costume celebrates colour, texture, and creative adaptation to contribute to a rich and lively onstage world.

They are also a skilled scenic painter – anything can be wood grained, and that’s a promise!

Molly holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies from Dalhousie University and is a current candidate for an MFA in Design & Production at the University of Victoria.
